Ceramics Care Guide - FAQ

Caring for Your Handcrafted Ceramics

Can I put my ceramics in the dishwasher?

Yes! All of my pieces are dishwasher safe. However, hand washing is recommended to preserve the beauty and longevity of the glaze. If using a dishwasher, place items on the top rack and avoid harsh detergents.

Are your ceramics microwave safe?

Absolutely. My handcrafted ceramics are microwave safe and perfect for reheating food and beverages. Please note that the piece may become hot, so use caution when removing from the microwave.

Can I use my ceramics in the oven?

Yes, my ceramics can go in the oven. However, avoid extreme temperature changes - don't place a cold piece directly into a hot oven or a hot piece on a cold surface, as this can cause thermal shock and cracking.

How should I clean stubborn stains?

For coffee or tea stains, soak the piece in warm water with baking soda for a few hours, then gently scrub with a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that could scratch the glaze.

Will my ceramics chip or crack easily?

My pieces are durable and made for everyday use. However, like all ceramics, they can chip or crack if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. Handle with care, especially around sinks and countertops.

Why does my piece look slightly different from the photo?

Each piece is handcrafted and unique! Slight variations in glaze color, pattern, and size are natural and part of the charm of handmade ceramics. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Can I use metal utensils with my ceramics?

While my glazes are durable, I recommend using wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils to prevent scratching and preserve the finish over time.

How should I store my ceramics?

Stack carefully with felt pads or paper towels between pieces to prevent scratching. Avoid stacking too high to prevent chips from pieces shifting or falling.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

I pack each piece carefully, but if your ceramic arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with photos. I'll work with you to find a solution.

Do you have any other care tips?

Avoid sudden temperature changes, hand wash when possible, and enjoy using your pieces daily! My ceramics are made to be loved and used, not just displayed.
